DHARA

Dhara

The word Dhara means flow. Application of a continuous stream of mildly warm medicated liquids to the body parts .It is an amazingly relaxing therapy which gently releases stress and tension from the body.There are different types of Dhara and the name of the Dhara depends on the liquid used, and the parts of the body to which it is applied.

Shirodhara

The medicated liquids are dripped continuously over the forehead, between the eyebrows.The liquids used in shirodhara include oil, milk, medicated buttermilk, coconut water, or even plain water.Shirodhara soothes the mental channels.Regular shirodhara enhances blood circulation to the brain, improves memory, nourishes hair and scalp, assists in providing sound sleep and calms the body and mind.

INDICATION:

Shirodhara has been used to treat a variety of conditions including eye diseases, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, greying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Meniere's disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. It is also used non-medicinally at spas for its relaxing properties. Shirodhara is one of the most effective treatment for tension, stress and eliminates the toxins. It invokes relaxation, reduces elevated blood pressure, and promotes mental clarity and positivity. Indicated for anger, low concentration, insomnia, lack of focus, depression, anxiety and all manner of emotional imbalances .

Thailadhara (Dhara with medicated oil)

The medicated oil is poured gently on all over body or body parts continuously .

INDICATION:

Insomnia, migraine, facial palsy, paralysis, parkinsonism, poor memory, vertigo, Meniere' sdisease, anxiety disorders and stress, hypertension. Helps to improve concentration.

THAKRA DHARA(Dhara with medicated butter milk).

In thakradhara, medicated butter milk is poured continuously on the forehead as a continuous stream in between the temples and in specific conditions given whole body.

INDICATION:

For skin diseases like psoriasis, insomnia, and stress, helps to improve concentration. Obesity ,Hypertension, Head ache Loss of sleep Loss of memory, burning sensation in Diabetes Mellitus Eczema Psoriasis Cardiac disorders

DHANYAMLA DHARA

Dhara is a process of pouring warm medicated oil or a herbal decoction over the body. Dhanyamlam - is an infusion (decoction)prepared with some cereals (dhanyam) and acidic fruits like citrus fruits. Njavara rice, horse gram, millet, sliced citrus fruits, dried ginger etc. The above prepared decoction (Dhanyamlam) is poured in a continuous stream over the body.

INDICATION:

For rejuvenation, improving blood circulation and in reducing pain, inflammation and rigidity of joints.

KARASKARA KSHEERA DHARA

Karaskaraksheeram - is a herbal decoction prepared in milk. Warm Karaskaraksheeram is poured in a continuous stream all over the body.

INDICATION:

Effective treatment to improve peripheral blood circulation, reducing pain, numbness, burning sensation and inflammation. This line of treatment combined with specific externally used oils has an added effect for Rheumatoid arthritis, diabetic neuropathy, eczema and psoriasis.

Kashayadhara(dhara with decoctions)

Pouring of warm herbal decoction on the affected parts or all over the body.

INDICATION:

Skin diseases, peripheral neuropathies, allergic conditions.
